Back to School: The Style Edit Edition

Update your wardrobe for school this fall with four effortless and affordable looks

As school approaches and summer ends, everyone (including me) starts to realize that they want to upgrade their wardrobe because it only makes sense to be on campus somewhat put together. For me personally, I used to have a really hard time deciding what I would wear during the school year versus what I thought was just cute. That & Other Stories dress may look stunning in store but how many times will you even just put it on during the upcoming school year? While the answer to that question is probably disappointing, you can still look effortlessly put together with pieces you will actually wear throughout the fall season.

All looks down below will be linked. The goal is to keep fashion affordable and cute.

Look 1

Twist on Denim

@vivianeaudi

Jeans and denim in general can be taken for granted in their versatility and the millions of ways they can dress an outfit up or down. A casual way to be comfortable and cute this fall is pairing a jean with a unique fit with a basic cropped top. @vivianeaudi does this perfectly with her white cropped tank and more casual fitting jeans. Adding any white shoe or comfy sneaker to this outfit makes it even more appealing. Quality denim can be a little more on the pricier side but I promise, one perfect pair of jeans can transform your wardrobe. Pair these items with some cute accessories like a belt to dress up this casual outfit or just to make it stand out and you've got a comfortable but cute outfit.

Look 2

Not Kylie's Biker Shorts

@johannaeolsson

You’ve probably seen Kylie Jenner’s biker short outfits become her go to necessity but most people don’t incorporate that casual, easygoing look into their wardrobe. Biker shorts are probably the most comfortable pair of bottoms I’ve worn and black isn’t the only way to go! Colored biker shorts, including neon like @johannaeolsson or pastel colors like @sarahhashcroft, brighten up any outfit while still looking and feeling amazing. These bottoms can be paired with any basic crop top or an oversized tee. Throw on some sneakers and accessorize with some cute earrings and you’ve got a trendy outfit that probably took two minutes to find in your closet.

Look 3

Monochromatic Sweats

@cocojanelle_

Jogger sweatpants and sweatshirt have become trendy this past season and it’s surprisingly easy to make pair these pieces. So take it up a notch and pair joggers and tops with the same color to look coordinated and fashionable when in reality all you really did was look for the same color of the comfiest clothes you can find. Paring these outfits with the right accent jewelry and sneakers will help make you feel your best while you study (or procrastinate studying). @cocojanelle_ knows how to do it right with her beige colored joggers, tank and sweater.

Look 4

Reinventing the Cheerleading Skirt

@jourdansloane

Mini skirts and midi skirts finally have a new addition to add to what’s trending: the cheerleader (tennis) skirt. This pleated bottom can be worn with so many different cute tops and to keep it light and casual, cropped tops complete the outfit without going overboard. Sneakers and minimal, accentual jewelry give the outfit a girly but casual vibe that is sure to look effortlessly chic on anyone. @jourdansloane’s outfit is the perfect balance colors and keep the look airy and light.

@niajoispencer

The beauty of these four looks is that they can be worn in hundreds of ways. Don’t forget you can always dress up these outfits with something as simple as a change in your shoes from sneakers to heels or the jacket you wear with it. They’re super versatile and these pieces can be used in millions of other outfits. Make your back to college shopping experience even easier with these outfits and you’ll be have the girl next door look down with all of these trendy pieces. Happy shopping!!
