As the holidays approach and university breaks become more common, more and more of us will be traveling whether its via train, bus, or (my favorite) plane. With the traveling season comes the need for comfortable but still cute outfits for flights. Since I’m super weird, I love dressing a least slightly cute for flights because it just makes me feel nice, ya know? If you don’t, it’s probably because dressing “nice” for flights may seem unnecessary— like why do some people (ie. my dad) wear jeans on planes? Trust me, if I knew, I’d tell you. But here’s a tip: dressing somewhat cute for your next flight doesn’t have to include jeans or weird shoes. Keep reading to find out how that’s possible.
1. Monochrome
One of the easiest yet stylish ideas for a flight is a monochromatic outfit. The whole one color thing is really in right now and on top of that, it looks so intentioned because of how put together it looks but in reality, it’s effortless. The best part is that it makes any sweatpants related outfit look like you worked hard on picking it out when you really didn’t even have to. Monochrome outfits work with anything from joggers to biker shorts to jeans (if you are crazy, that is). The best matches come from neutrals like white or gray and neon, bright colors like all pink. And the nicest part is that you most likely have all the pieces you need in your closet right now.

2. Fitspo
If you’re a fan of leggings or athletic wear on flights, there are so many ways to make it a little more put together. For one, you could always add a denim jacket (cropped is the way to go) which makes the whole look an outfit instead of looking like you’re going to the gym. You can also try the first tip and combine: make your workout look all one color. Take that with your cropped denim jacket and you’re all set for a comfy flight while you still look cute (I told you it’s possible). Pro tip: if you also don’t feel like wearing layers (for the 3 people out there who don’t get cold on planes), try wearing sports bras that are long enough to be shirts under your jacket. It’ll make your flight a little less cramped but it’s still a look you’re gonna want to repeat.

3. Short Sets
Okay hear me out: for the people who don’t get cold on flights (let me know how, first off) or are flying a shorter distance, why not wear shorts? Before you freak out, I’m talking shorts sets not denim shorts. Shorts sets are so incredibly comfortable but still iconic and an outfit you will want to live in. The nicest part is that since it’s a set, you can wear it separately with other pieces or together (which I personally live for). Shorts sets also just make you feel like the tropical destination you’re headed to is already in the aircraft, so why not right? My favorite places that sell these sets for cheap while keeping decent quality is PrettyLittleThing. I also love that they have so many options so you always find something that you absolutely love.

At the end of the day, you want to stay comfortable during any type of travel. Hopefully these ideas will do just that while keeping you looking cute. Happy shopping!!
